I FUCKING LOVE IT monday

Another Monday, another list of things I fucking love.

- Bob Dylan Saturday, followed by Tom Waits Sunday – the way it should be.

- Toasted bagels with butter and raspberry jam for breakfast – Such a simple pleasure!

- Making new friends. Especially ones who cook for me – thank you!!

- Doing push-ups till I feel like I’m going to vomit – this feels better than it sounds!

- I read an article about these abandoned 'pods' in Japan and was reminded of how much I want to go go back to Japan and travel round photographing the abandoned theme parks. Check out these photos! So sinister! I love it!

Paint drip table? Yeah go on then.

 - These two articles from Vice. I'm not the biggest Vice fan going but something about these pieces just tickled me.
Possibly the description of of the dark side of girl-on-girl friendship as a dark side that is 'located many fathoms below a sea of dark, cold, sharky waters...'. Dramatic much?

Hmmmm. What else??

- Photography by Christopher Bush - awesome stuff.

I FUCKING LOVE IT monday

I thought it’d be nice to have a regular feature on the blog (or semi regular – I will try, I promise!) and contrary to popular belief I do actually like things.  And some things I FUCKING LOVE.  Yes. See – title of this post.
Here are some ideas I wrote down yesterday while hung over at a craft fair -

I’m surprised I loved anything when I wrote that. I felt like the world was ending. I’m not feeling great today either so I figure I should get this post done before I start hating everything...

DISCO PANTS. They are shiny heaven. On Saturday night my favourite bouncer told me I was racking the superhero look. I’m also digging my shiny ass. You get a photo. I’m kind like that.

This is the dress. It's from this awesome etsy store - Babooshka Boutique. I've bought a couple of items from them before and I love them. I want this whole outfit actually. And her hair. HAIR ENVY.

My cat - who is famously a princess - has been lovely this weekend. So she gets a mention.

I had an amazing red velvet supcake yesterday thanks to these lovely ladies.

I also love this blog post by my wife Dianne - http://icefloe.blogspot.com/2011/06/business-time.html - I think a lot of creative folk go through dry patches and I’m really excited that Di has found her mojo again!

Honourable mentions – Cheap sloe gin, hilarious text messages that made me actually laugh, plans – this is the year of making things happen, Morrisons special offer on bottles of Innocent juice.

In other news – after spending most of last week feeling like I’d been hit by a bus it appears that I’ve started this week feeling the same way. It’s my own entire fault of course. I still haven’t learnt that I need sleep and the odd day off to relax. This weekend involved lots of drinking, dancing on tables, walking home while the sun was coming up, three hours of sleep, a craft fair with the lovely Claire who was feeling as terrible as I was. Hmmmm, what else... arguing with people on twitter. Always good fun. I was all set to do a big blog post about it but the rage has subsided.  Long story short – I dislike self righteous people who claim to know what is best for everyone.

What does this week hold... rest?? Mayperhaps. I need to find my passport. Like right now. There’s a gig on Friday that promises to be awesome. Oh and this is my first six day work week. Let’s see how this shit pans out.
